Five instinctual desires often arise from abuse, abandonment, and/or grievous betrayal. All are natural components of the human psyche and therefore, depicted in Sacred Scripture. Victims and secondary victims (family members) may experience more than one desire simultaneously. This contributes to the complexities of healing and the choice to forgive.
With great warmth and a bit of wit, Wendy ushers women into their own stories of hope, healing, and triumph over darkness by demonstrating God’s redeeming love in the midst of raw emotion.

This talk is a six to ten-week classroom series and tailored for women in small groups or peer support groups.

“Wendy Redroad’s approach to forgiveness rocked my world! It allowed me to walk through my own journey of healing in a new way. She shakes the foundation of how the topic of forgiveness is presented to victims of abuse.”

“We’ve had the privilege of watching Wendy present her curriculum to our peer support group as well as our safe house residents.
Her program is presented in a way that the most broken and vulnerable person can relate. The “five desires that arise from abuse, exploitation, and betrayal” are a necessary starting point in helping these women let go of the deep shame they carry. Wendy teaches with a great deal of empathy and compassion.”

By focusing on the healing role “the passions” (Aquinas), i.e., human emotions can play in the choice to forgive, this retreat or speaker series creates an empathetic pathway between the effects of trauma and the Christian imperative to forgive.

“There is NO Condemnation in Christ. So many times I wasn't able to put my finger on why I was feeling a certain way. Now I am able to pause, breathe and think before just reacting to my circumstances. I am now able to offer some guidance to family members and friends who struggle. I have learned to look at Sacred Scripture differently because Wendy’s class opened my eyes to how scripture truly fits into our daily lives.”

Dr.’s Carol Lieser, PhD., and Suzanne Baars, PhD.“Having spoken with Ms. Wendy Redroad about “How to forgive what you will never forget,” we would like to say how impressed we are with her dedication to helping others heal from traumas.
Ms. Redroad provided us a draft of the curriculum for her program which seems quite comprehensive, organized in its approach to the tenets of the Catholic Church as well as the psychological needs of these individuals.
Dr. Lieser observed several of the classes and was highly impressed by the professionalism and charity with which Ms. Redroad conducted them.
The participants were actively engaged and voiced the benefits of her leadership and the sharing of her experiences. In light of this, we both support and highly recommend the continued use of her talents and this program.”

I have a better idea of how to take brokenness to the cross—rather than attempt to “pray it away.”
The teaching illustrates how to deepen our relationship with Christ, who transforms us. We cannot transform ourselves.
“Wendy showed us how to identify the sacraments at work in our hearts as we journey through forgiveness.

“I don’t give compliments unless I mean it. Wendy’s class series gave me goose bumps the first week. It’s amazing! She teaches that it’s okay if we can’t forgive right now. I was sick of hearing I must forgive. She is relatable and that’s how women like me will get through this. She gets us! She has a gift, and it brings me hope. Wow, is all I can say.”

“In church, I always felt like I was wrong to feel rage. This teaching freed me to express the pain and anger and hurt that was bottled up in the deepest place of my heart. It was a real turning point. I was finally able to release what had been trapped inside for so long. God gave me my voice back. Wendy’s message was the key that opened the door for me.”
